The sun being "denied the sight of his own work: summer's smothered sigh" is a brilliantly succinct and evocative way to sum up this climate. Great stuff :)
A rare poem in that I understood most of it on the first read (usually takes me at least two). A simple enough scene, yet not portrayed in simplistic language, but in evocative images. Elegant and well done!
You captured this moment beautifully!
Thank you, Joyce!

Many thanks, James! I appreciate your feedback.
Perfect evocation of a particular kind of humid summer day.
Thank you, Melanie!
It's so vivid that, whilst sitting in a refrigerated room, I'm suffocating. (That's a compliment, I promise)
Thank you! That's high praise indeed. Maybe my next poem should provide refreshment whilst you're sitting in a hot car. :)
Deal! Though I wouldn't be surprised if you managed it; you've already mastered poetic asphyxiation. :)

Thank you for reading and for your feedback, Abram! I'm glad the poem landed without being too complicated.
So good!
Thank you, Portia!
